Dearest Jochen, Eliane and Emily,

From the entire Bloch Family in Canada, we want to express our deepest condolences at the passing of your beloved Gabriel. You are in our thoughts several times a day and we wish we could be there in person to give you all a long & deep embrace. As we think of you and of Gabriel we are sending you rays of love and hope from across the ocean.

Since I was a little boy, the name Gabriel has been one of my very favorites. In Hebrew, the name Gabriel translates to “God is my strength” or “hero of God”. We all know what the path of life is not easy and each of us confronts the challenges, obstacles, and tests that God puts before us. I hope you find strength and comfort knowing that Gabriel is in heaven now. From heaven, Gabriel is giving you all of God’s strength and God looks to his right and sees Gabriel, his hero. A hero for the way he tackled his challenges and obstacles during his short time on this earth.
